OLC was founded by two teachers who possessed not only a passion for teaching, but a passion for students. Pam Kennon and Carly Nails decided to take a leap of faith and start their own learning center to be the first of its kind, designed to put students first. OLC was founded by two teachers who possessed not only a passion for teaching, but a passion for students. Pam Kennon and Carly Nails decided to take a leap of faith and start their own learning center to be the first of its kind, designed to put students first. The idea behind Oconee Learning Center was to build a program that valued students as individuals, seeking to highlight their strengths and offer tools to assist in coping with their weaknesses. With a combined 50 years experience in Education, Pam and Carly have found that putting students’ wellbeing FIRST produces an overall better morale, motivation and academic success. OLC was designed with only one thing in mind: the well being of STUDENTS. Our greatest desire is to meet
students where they ARE, not where they “should” be. Our teaching style relies on strong relationships between teachers and their students; when a
teacher makes a student feel seen and understood, it can lead to incredible learning. When
