I have 30+ years of experience educating and encouraging students to reach their full potential. After earning my master’s degree in early childhood education from Brenau University, I taught in the Jefferson City School System where I was named Teacher of the Year. I then taught in the Oconee County School System and was named Northeast Softball Coach of the Year. In 2011, I developed the Resource Center at Athens Christian School and served students with a range of learning abilities for ten years, earning Athens Banner-Herald’s Amazing Teacher award in 2021. I am passionate about meeting students where they are in their learning process and motivating them to reach their goals. My greatest achievements however, are my family and my love for all my “school kids.” When I teach your child they become a part of my heart! At OLC, I am so very excited for the opportunity to serve your children and help them gain confidence in their academic skills and self worth. When not working with my precious students, I enjoy visiting Walt Disney World and the National Parks with my most fabulous (growing!) family of 16.

I have a degree in Child Development and have been in education for over 13 years. My approach in teaching is figuring out how a student’s brain works, and teaching them based on their specific learning style. I am a hands-on educator that strives to meet students exactly where they are not only academically, but emotionally and socially as well. My ability to connect with students on their level consistently produces improvements in both grades and overall morale. My greatest goal is to help students by highlighting their strengths, teaching them skills to cope with their weaknesses and overall increasing their confidence that will enable them to unlock their gifts and full potential! When I’m not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband and our two children, Lola (5) and Parker (2). We love traveling out west and to Disney World, enjoying the incredible food and festivities downtown, going to the movies & spending time with our extended families!

I'm delighted to introduce myself – I'm Michelle Garrison, and I'm thrilled to be a part of the incredible journey alongside your children. With over 30 years of experience as a retired teacher, education is not just a profession for me; it's a lifelong passion.
As a native of Oconee County, this community holds a special place in my heart. I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia, nurturing my foundation in education. My pursuit of academic excellence led me to Piedmont University, where I achieved my master's degree. Continuing my educational journey, I specialized further by attaining a specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University.
Teaching isn't just a job; it's my calling. I find immense joy in inspiring, motivating, and supporting students as they grow into independent and confident learners. Witnessing their progress and development is a true privilege.
Outside of the classroom, my heart finds joy in the company of my amazing husband, cherished family, dear friends, and beloved fur babies. When I'm not shaping young minds, you'll find me soaking up the beauty of the lake or pool, getting lost in a good book, or indulging in a little retail therapy.
I'm eager to embark on this journey with your children and contribute to their growth and learning. Let's work together to make this a memorable and enriching experience.

I have a passion for nurturing a love of learning in children, and I’ve gained valuable teaching experience across nearly all elementary grade levels. With a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, I am committed to helping students reach their academic potential by fostering curiosity and encouraging critical thinking. I strive to create an engaging, hands-on learning environment that empowers children to develop problem-solving skills and confidence in their abilities. My teaching approach focuses on adapting to the individual needs of each student, ensuring they feel supported and capable of mastering new concepts. Just as important to me as academics is building strong, meaningful relationships with my students, creating a supportive environment where they feel valued and encouraged.
Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my husband and our two daughters, Riley and Raegan. Together, we enjoy outdoor adventures, traveling, staying active, and creating lasting memories as a family.

My name is Madeline Kennon and I am a Georgia native, wife, mother, and self-taught artist who loves a pop of color. Through painting with acrylic and experimenting with a variety of textures, I focus on creating colorful and meaningful work to best interpret my view of the beautiful world around me. I began creating bodies of work as well as unique commissioned pieces in 2016. While first pursuing a career as an elementary school teacher and nanny, I always jumped at the opportunity to put a brush in my hand, until finally taking the leap as a full-time artist in 2022. I have participated in local artist markets such as the Georgia Club Tour of Homes and the annual Athens Academy Holiday Market. I have also participated in fine art shows including The Pretentious Collector (2020, 2021, 2022) and Trinity School’s Spotlight on Art (2023). I find inspiration in my faith and aim to create work that glorifies God with the gift He has given me. I am thrilled to be a part of the OLCA family and have the opportunity to share my love of art with your precious children!
